Music Technology Diploma Prep Courses

These courses are the ideal preparation for the entrance assessment to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÐ±¦µä¿ª½±½á¹û Music Technology Diploma program, or for those interested in an introduction to recording engineering technology and music theory. No previous experience is necessary.

MTD Prep Theory | CRN 31380

This course is designed to teach the rudimentary elements of music theory and to prepare the student to meet the requirements for the MTD theory entrance assessment. The materials covered in this class are approximate to the materials assessed by the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Grade 8 Theory Exam.

MTD Prep Technology | CRN 31381

Course Overview:

Through lecture/demonstrations and hands-on lab work, this course will introduce the basic theoretical and practical applications of digital music technology, in particular the project-studio environment: a computer based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).

A Note about MTD Prep Classes: While the MTD Prep Classes are highly recommended, neither class is mandatory. Participation in the prep classes does not guarantee acceptance into the MTD program.
