Health Care Assistant

Canada’s population is aging, and health care providers are increasingly in demand. With a Health Care Assistant Certificate from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÐ±¦µä¿ª½±½á¹û, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide holistic care to promote the physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being for people with diverse health needs.


Program Highlights

You’ll learn how to assist people with grooming, support them in participating in social and recreational activities, and help them maintain mobility. The general focus of the HCA program is caring for people with physical care needs and/or dementia.

 

About the Program

The program has two intakes each year – Fall and Winter – and classes are held at the Coquitlam Campus. You’ll complete the program in two semesters, which means after just seven months you could launch a career in health care – one of the fastest growing job sectors in the country.

Career Advancement

Once you graduate, you may find work in hospitals, assisted living and care facilities, recreation centres and other places where a Health Care Assistant’s services may be needed. Our graduates enjoy an employment rate of close to 95 percent.
